Sometimes people have hobbies. And they like to annotate bits of their life with this hobby. A sign to show how proud they are of whatever it is they do. I think email addresses, band names, license plates, and nicknames all sort of have that feel to it. I enjoy uncovering significances in these things. Sometimes, I hear things throughout the day and I immediately think of an email address I could create out of what I heard. Or a psychedelic band name. Or a nickname.
Not following me here?
Yeah me neither.
I explain best with examples so here we go...
A few friends and I had an obsession with Pop Tarts. Yes they taste good, but I think it also came from a unique individual who reminded us of a Pop Tart. Not like anyone is reading this, but I will not describe said person further. The Internet is too...open. (And also, only a true interaction with the person would effect complete understanding). Wow, anyway, we created a band out of "The Brown Sugar Pop Tarts". We took a picture, edited the picture and made ourselves a touring poster. Chill.
I just thought of astronauts. If I were one, or better, if I were studying to be one, I'd get an email address like "spazedout13@gmail.com" There are a lot of things going on in this...not only am I ghettoly adding a z but I also added a 13. Slight reference to a classic astrofilm Apollo 13.
License plates must be addressed. They are my favorite of all. I think. It gives me something to do in the car, decode the 7 character plate and try to give it significance to the driver. Sometimes you are stunned by the garb and biology of the driver.
These are some thoughts.. As I begin to remember more fake emails I've created I'll post them. I feel like I've had both more creative and humorous thoughts than these. Alas.
Adios.
